Casting On: Right handed version
(holding hook in your right hand)
Casting on is a simple step, and the first thing that you need to know.
I took great care to try to explain in detail, as this is a page for beginners.
 |
Hold the loose end of the thread against your
first two fingers, using your thumb. |
 |
Wrap the thread up and over your fingers,
making an "X", as shown here. |
 |
Place your thumb on the "X", to hold in
place. |
 |
Rotate your hand towards you, to see the tops
of your fingers. |
 |
Insert the hook under both threads, and hook
the second thread. |
 |
Pull the second thread under the first
one. |
 |
Slide the threads off your fingers, as you
pull the hook through. |
 |
Pull snugly. You have finished "casting on"! |
